Description: Due to widely use of computers in modern business office activities, raised floors have become an important part of office decoration. With a raised floor system, you can easily hide all your cables and wiring, which means no more tangled mess to deal with. Let’s now analyze office raised flooring requirements and how to choose the right raised floor for your office.

First of all, we need to analyze what requirements the office places on the raised floor?

1. Good bear load capacity for office raised floors

When considering load-bearing, it is important to take into account all objects and people that will exert pressure on the floor. Including but not limited to the load of equipment and furniture in the office, as well as the load that may be caused by the number of employees, appropriate flooring needs to be selected based on the number of employees. At the same time, it is also necessary to consider the possible situation of office and whether there will be gatherings of people, to ensure that the floor will not be damaged or unstable due to gatherings of people during peak hours. The load-bearing selection of large square office buildings should be scientifically evaluated by professionals to select floors with better load-bearing levels.

MAJET's raised floor follows the CISCA standard for load-bearing classification. You can refer to the table below to select the appropriate load-bearing level.

2.When choosing an office raised floor you need to consider the requirements for cables and pipe installation.

Lots of cables and pipes may be used in commercial office buildings, which requires the location and direction of cables and pipes to be considered in advance when designing the raised floor plan. This is also what designers need to design in advance. You need to firstly consider the height of the bracket. If the height of the bracket is high, you need to eliminate not suitable raised floor materials and choose raised floor with sufficient load-bearing capacity. At the same time, stringers are added as auxiliary supports.

3.Wear resistance and service life of office raised floors.

The office is a place where many people move around , and the movement of tables, chairs, and benches will also cause scratches on the floor. Therefore, the raised floor we choose needs to have good wear resistance, thereby extending its service life and reducing the trouble of frequent replacement of raised floor.

4.The raised floor in the office must have good sound insulation effect.

We can imagine that when there are many office workers and a quiet working environment is required, the sound insulation effect of the floor becomes even more important.

5.Office raised floors need to be easy to clean.

Offices generally have a lot of people coming and going every day, so they need to be cleaned every day. Easy cleaning is also a requirement for the raised floor.

6.Office raised floors need to be insulated and ventilated.

There are many electronic devices in the office, which easily generate heat. This requires the raised floor to have the characteristics of heat insulation and ventilation. You can choose to use the air flow panels produced by MAJET company in combination with solid raised floors to achieve floor ventilation.

What types of raised flooring are currently available?

If the raised floors currently on the market are classified according to materials, they can be divided into:

1.Steel raised floor (OA bare panel):

steel raised floor are fabricated with steel sheet (SPCC) welded to a formed steel bottom pan (ST14), filled internally with a light weight cement material which is totally encased with in the steel welded shell. The steel shell is protected from corrosion by applying epoxy paint.

2.Calcium sulphate raised floor :

The raised access floor panel are made of calcium sulphate board core with bottom galvanized steel sheet and ABS sealed side edges. The various of top coverings are available for customer choices.

3.Woodcore raised floor:

Wood Core access floor consists of high-density (720Kg/m3) Chipboard. galvanized steel foil is bonded to the bottom of the chipboard. four edges are sealed with PVC edge trims. HPL or PVC stuck to top.

4.Aluminum raised floor :

The aluminum raised floor, then attached covering materials on the surfaces (HPL, PVC).

5.FRC inorganic cement raised floor:

FRC access floor is made of silicate, inorganic fiber, mineral fiber, quartz sand, etc, once -molded after high pressure. The panel has no volatile toxic chemicals and radiation, and can be decomposed completely. Its service time is the same as the building. Each panel has hole for wires, four corners supported by pedestals, with no stringers. Good flatness and solid feeling. top covering can be laminate flooring, PVC, carpet, etc.

What are the advantages of each type of flooring in office applications?

1. Steel flooring is the most cost-effective choice among all raised floors. Therefore, it is also the most widely used variety in offices. The weight of steel raised floor is lighter than that of calcium sulfate floor, and its load-bearing effect is higher than that of wood core raised floor. Overseas shipping is more convenient and saves money. Because steel is not an environmentally friendly material, some countries and regions do not advocate the use of steel floors.

2.Calcium sulfate flooring has better load-bearing capacity than steel raised flooring. It can be used for a longer time, is not easy to rust, and is a recyclable and environmentally friendly material. It is also a widely used raised floor. However, its own weight is heavier, which increases transportation costs.

3.Woodcore raised floor are relatively less load-bearing among these types of floors, but they are also the lightest in weight. The good walking feeling and silent effect have also won many users. This is also a recyclable and environmentally friendly material . it is very popular in some countries and regions.

4.Aluminum raised flooring is the highest performance flooring, but because its price is much higher than other floors, it is usually rarely used as office flooring. But there are also some special offices that use aluminum floors.

5.FRC flooring, FRC flooring has better load-bearing capacity than steel floors of the same size, but its own weight is heavier, which also limits its overseas export business. If transportation costs are not considered, FRC flooring is a very cost-effective office movable floor.

How to achieve diversified office design through covering materials?

The most widely used veneer materials in offices currently are carpet, ceramic tiles and HPL. With the rapid development of industry technology, these veneer materials now have a wide variety of designs and special functions.

1.carpet

Carpets are currently the most widely used in offices. Carpets have a better walking feel and can greatly reduce the generation of noise, which is conducive to creating a quiet environment. Carpets have many colors, including plain ones, square ones, strips, etc. Designers can use carpets to create a variety of atmospheric patterns according to the company's own style and culture.

2.ceramic

tile Ceramic tile itself has good hardness, good wear resistance, and is easy to clean. It is also a widely used material. Ceramic tiles are available in glossy and matte finishes. There are also a variety of sizes and patterns, and designers can create light and dark effects, combined with the requirements of the atmosphere, to create a personalized and nice design.

3.HPL

(High Pressure Laminate) HPL material also ensures excellent anti-static properties on the premise of good wear resistance. HPL materials also have a wide variety of colors. Since HPL colors are changed through a kind of  film, it is easier to customize the colors. Can provide gravel pattern, wood grain color, marble pattern, carpet pattern and other colors. Cost analysis of office raised flooring?

The cost analysis of office raised floors needs to comprehensively consider the price of the floor itself, the cost of installation, and the cost of transportation. This is a more professional job that requires a comprehensive calculation based on the area to be used, the type of flooring you choose, and the destination of transportation. You can contact MAJET company for professional solutions.

Rearch on the long-term effects of office raised floors.

From the perspective of long-term use, calcium sulfate raised floor has high density, good load-bearing, and corrosion resistance, so it is more suitable for long-term use. Wood core raised flooring are also corrosion-resistant, but microorganisms or moisture in the environment will cause some changes in the wooden structure. After long-term use, it may cause changes such as bulging and uneven surfaces. The steel rasied floor itself is not resistant to rust, but it can also be protected by some surface coating materials to achieve a better service life.

What accessories can be used in usage with the office raised floor?

The modular design of the office raised floor facilitates its use in conjunction with other air conditioning circulation equipment and electronic equipment. There are currently some ventilation units designed according to the dimensions of the raised floor, which makes them more convenient to use. The surface of the raised floor can open holes to install floor outlet boxes, diffusers, rasied floor fans and other equipment. This come to a better user experience.
